Some things to remember before your vacation at Walters Resort
Pack both cool and hot weather clothes. While temperatures are warm during the day, in the evening they can dip into the 50s even during the summer. Warm clothes will make those cool evenings by the fire much more pleasant. Don’t forget your swim suit!
As you plan for your summer escapade, consider exploring the destination with the assistance of local tours and guides. These knowledgeable companions can unveil hidden gems, share captivating stories, and provide insights into the culture and history of the place you’re visiting. Whether it’s a scenic hike, a historical walking tour, or an adventurous excursion, engaging with tours and guides can transform your summer trip into an immersive and unforgettable experience, blending relaxation with exploration in the most delightful way.
Bring shoes appropriate for all the activities you’re planning. Sneakers, flip flops and hiking boots will be useful. Don’t forget socks.
The cabin kitchens are fully outfitted with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, dish soap, dishcloths and towels. But you’ll need to bring food if you plan on cooking in the cabins. There are two large grocery stores in Park Rapids and smaller stores in both Nevis and Dorset.
Don’t forget to bring your fishing gear. You can pick up a fishing license in Park Rapids, Nevis, or Dorset.
If you plan on flying in, Minneapolis (MSP) is about a 3 1/2 hour drive and Fargo (FAR) is a 2-hour drive to Walters Resort.
Just in case you were wondering, there is an excellent hospital in Park Rapids, and Fargo is a major medical center.
